District Conference Awards

Awards for 2024-2025

Each club may submit ONE application for each award. Applications should cover the dates of February 1, 2024 – January 31, 2025. Applications are due on February 1, 2025. Award descriptions include points awarded by judges.

Outstanding Service

Awards-Club-Service
Club Service: Recognizes the Club that best develops fellowship among members, utilizes club activities to advance the Objects of Rotary, and fosters the Family of Rotary.

The application should:

  • Describe the activities/projects performed. Describe the Club Members’ level of activity (1-20 points).
  • List the percentage of club members who participated in each listed activity/project (1-10 points).
  • Resulting benefits: How did these activities/projects strengthen the club? (1-10 points).
  • Banner and patch to 1st place winner, patch to 2nd place.
Awards-Club Partnership Service

Club Partnership Service: Recognizes the Club that best facilitates a large project working together with another Rotary Club, Rotaract Club, or Organization (examples: Government, Business, Nonprofit, Service Organization). The project can have a local or international focus while meeting the goals of Rotary. 

The application should:

  • Describe the large project accomplished.  Describe the Club’s leading role and the role of each participating Club and/or Organization (1-20 points).
  • List the percentage and number of Club Members who participated in the activity/project, and the total number of people working on the project (1-10 points).
  • Resulting Benefit: How did this activity/project help the intended audience (1-10 points).
  • Banner and patch to submitting club 1st place winner, patches to other participating clubs; patches to 2nd place clubs.
Awards-Community Service

Community Service: Recognizes the Club that best demonstrates “Service Above Self” based on all activities/projects provided to its Community.

The application should:

  • List all Community Service activities/projects in which Club Members participated (1-20 points).
  • List the percentage of club members who participated in each listed activity/project (1-10 points).
  • Resulting Benefits to the Community (1-10 points awarded).
  • Banner and patch to 1st place winner, patch to 2nd place.
Awards-International Service

International Service: Recognizes the Club that best exemplifies International Service, especially in the promotion of understanding, goodwill and peace, in a manner that will inspire other District 7570 Rotarians.

The application should:

  • Describe the International activities/projects performed (1-20 points).
  • List the percentage of Club Members who participated in the activity/project, and the total number of people who participated in the project(s) (1-10 points).
  • Resulting Benefit: How did this activity/project help others in the world (1-10 points).
  • Banner and patch to 1st place winner, patch to 2nd place.
Awards-Vocational Service

Vocational Service: Recognizes the Club that best promotes the Object of Rotary through the work of its Members, showing (1) high ethical standards at work and (2) best use of their occupation to make an impact in the Community. 

The application should:

  • Describe activities/projects your club did to feature Members’ professions in the community.  Describe how Rotary’s ethical standards helped club members perform better in their jobs (1-20 points).
  • List the percentage of club members who participated in each listed activity/project (1-10 points).
  • Resulting Benefits (1-10 points).
  • Banner and patch to 1st place winner, patch to 2nd place.
Awards-Youth Activities

Youth Activities: Recognizes the Club that best promotes activities that encourage youth to be productive and involved citizens in their communities.

The application should:

  • List all Youth activities in which Club Members participate (1-20 points).
  • List the percentage of club members who participated in each listed activity/project (1-10 points).  List the total number of participating Youth.
  • Resulting Benefits to Youth (1-10 points).
  • Banner and patch to 1st place winner, patch to 2nd place.

Outstanding Public Image

Awards-Club Bulletin

Club Bulletin: Recognizes the Club that best engages its Members with its Club Bulletin, by promoting Club Activities, Programs, Events, and its Members.

The Club Application should:

  • Include two bulletins from the current Rotary year (1-20 points).
  • Describe bulletin distribution beyond the club members (1-10 points).
  • Resulting Benefits: How did the Bulletin benefit the club members (1-10 points).
  • Banner and patch to 1st place winner, patch to 2nd place.
Awards-Club Social Media

Club Social Media: Recognizes the club with the best social media presence, including content and audience. 

The Club Application should:

  • List your social media site address(es). List the number of posts that were added to your social media site in the past year. Sum all the “likes” the individual posts received over the past year (1-20 points).
  • Give the percentage of your members that were involved in contributing. List the number of “Likes” your site has (1-10 points).
  • Resulting Benefits: List the benefits to Rotary and your club of the publicity/awareness that was generated (1-10 points).
  • Banner and patch to 1st place winner, patch to 2nd place.
Awards-Club Web Site

Club Web Site: Recognizes the Club with the best website presence. The website(s) must include fresh, constantly changing content.

The Club Application should:

  • List the web page address(es). Describe the web page, its content, and the frequency that its content is changed. What makes it better than other web pages? (1-20 points).
  • List the percentage of your members that were involved in contributing (1-10 points).
  • Resulting Benefits: List the benefits to Rotary and your club of the publicity/awareness that was generated. (1-10 points).
  • Banner and patch to 1st place winner, patch to 2nd place.
Awards-Public Image

Public Image: Recognizes the Club that best uses media platforms to promote awareness of Rotary and the work of Rotarians in the community and the world. 

The Club Application should:

  • Describe activities and media used to promote the awareness of Rotary and the work of Rotarians (1-20 points).
  • List the percentage of members that were involved in developing/distributing the publicity.  (1-10 points).
  • Resulting Benefits: List the benefits to Rotary and your club of the publicity/awareness that was generated (1-10 points).
  • Supporting Material: Include examples of the activities/media used by your club. (1-10 points).
  • Banner and patch to 1st place winner, patch to 2nd place.

Individual Awards:

Awards-Douglas Newton

Douglas A. Newton Excellence in Communications: This award was created by The Rotary Club of Downtown Kingsport in honor of former member and radio and TV broadcasting personality Past District Governor Doug Newton. This award is presented to the person or group that has exhibited excellence in communications.

  The Club Application should:

  • Describe the person or club nominated for this award, and how the nominee exhibited excellence in communications to help the District
  • Describe how many members in the District would  you  estimate your nominee affected
  • List the benefits to Rotary, the District and/or your club.
  • Supporting Material: Upload any two documents to support your candidate.
  • Engraved plaque revolving.
Awards-110% Award

110% Award:  The 110% Award is presented by the District Governor at District Conference.  It recognizes one Rotarian in each Area who has excelled in carrying out the Rotary Mission by giving 110% effort to strengthening their club, increasing humanitarian service, and extending Rotary’s public image. Each Assistant Governor should nominate one 110% Award candidate via the online Nomination Form by March 1. The Nominee will have been a Rotarian for at least two years have held Club Leadership Positions, and be on track for Leadership Opportunities. 

  The Nominee will have:

  • Exceptionally performed Club and Committee assignments
  • Accepted additional responsibilities if asked
  • Contributed to the quality of Club programs and service projects
  • Engaged Club Members
  • Participated in Club Public Image

The District Governor will announce the 110% Award Recipients at District Conference. 
The Assistant Governor will present the 110% Award Pin and Certificate at the Recipient’s Club meeting following the District Conference.  The Administrative Assistant Governor is responsible for managing the Award program.

The following awards are selected by the District Governor and may not be awarded every year:

  • David Moreman Youth Encouragement Award
  • J. Ronald Ferrill Humanitarian Award
  • Outstanding Club Award
  • Peacebuilders Award
 

The following awards are based on club growth and attendance at the district conference as determined by the District Conference committee and may not be awarded every year:

  • Percentage of net growth
  • Number of Rotarians at District conference (excluding host club)
  • Highest percentage of club members at District Conference (excluding host club)
